Facilitating a Deeni Lifestyle

Aqa Moula (TUS) has graced the Momineen of North America over the last decade.During Aqa Moula’s (TUS) travels to the West the importance of using Eastern wash commodes (WC) or (Taharat Nu Wasan) has been strongly emphasized. The installation of Eastern WCs has always been a problem for Momineen settled inWestern ountries. No easy solution was available for converting the Western WCs into Eastern ones. Many Mashaikh Kiram from North America made efforts to import Eastern WCs from India and Pakistan but installation is extremely expensive andtedious.

The cost of installing a standard Eastern WC in America could reach $5000 USD

Our History

It was vital for an easy to install, practical and affordable solution to be developed for this problem. Initially a very basic design was developed in USA. It consisted of a fiberglass body with a simple pot. This design was made to be placed over the existing Western WC. At first this seemed like a quick and easy solution. However, after Momineen started using this attachment, many hindranceswere observed. Firstly the design consisted of a very high step due to which getting on and squatting were almost impossible. Secondly it had no flushing system which was inconvenient and led to foul smells. Thirdly the unit was very difficult to clean. Due to all these problems this design was not able to succeed.

In 2002 Mulla Mohammed Shk. Noman Khambalia (Engineer) returned from the United States to Peshawar - Pakistan with the Neeyat of Khidmat and came up with the idea of making a practical Eastern toilet for Western Countries. At Daudsons Industries Pvt. Ltd. (Peshawar - Pakistan) Mulla Mohammed Shk. Noor-ud-din Daud prized his elder cousin’s idea and decided to work on a prototype. After much research and rigorous prototyping an indigenous design was achieved, that is practical, lightweight and affordable. Some features of this design are:

  • Light weight and Durable (fiberglass and steel materials)
  • Aesthetically appealing
  • Easy to Install (DIY – Do It Yourself design)
  • Low price due to light weight and ease of manufacturing
  • Integrated flushing system and S-Trap

The brand name East West was thought by Mulla Mohammed Shk. Noor-ud-din Daud. This brand name reflects the incorporation of Eastern Cultural practices in the Western world. Specifically, Eastern products are presented in a form compatible with the Western way of life. From experience and feedback it is now understood that a major psychological setback is keeping Mumineen in the Western countries from converting to the Eastern, Deeni and Cultural toilet. Hence a Western styledapproach is necessary for gaining acceptance of this concept.

The original East West design was presented to Aqa Moula (TUS) in Dubai during Ashara Mubaraka 1426. Aqa Moula (TUS) conveyed Nazar on the design, asked several questions regarding the design and did Dua Mubarak for the success of the designers and the product. The unit was also presented to Shz. Qaidjohar Bhai Saheb (DM) and Shz. Muffadal Bhai Saheb (DM).

During the same year the unit was installed at the State Guest House in Islamabad where Aqa Moula (TUS) rested for a few hours during his visit to Pakistan on 93rd Milad Mubarak. This was a great privilege bestowed upon the two young cousins as their design was first presented in the Khidmat of Aqa Moula (TUS).

Towards the end of 2004 one unit was installed at Dr. Moiz Bhai Saheb Mohyuddin’s residence in East Stroudsburg – Pennsylvania. This unit is still functioning optimally and is used by the residents daily. Since then East West units have been installed in Houston, Toronto, Mississauga, Columbus, Chicago, Detroit, Bradford (UK) and Melbourne (Australia).

By Grace of Almighty Allah and Dua Mubarak of Aqa Moula (TUS) Momineen and their young children are happily using the East West design. They find it extremely practical and affordable but most importantly they have adopted this Deeni product as part of their lifestyles.
